This type of issue happens all the time. Making and appointment for an oil change and then adding several other concerns at the time of drop off is a daily issue. The main issue is time on the schedule. As the shop grows time is more packed tight.

A very forgotten and underrated service is the Brake Fluid Flush. Over time brake fluid will become acidic due to moisture absorption and heating/cooling of the fluid. The fluid breaks down and causes damage to the seals in the system.

The dealer was the last to change the oil! Had to buy a $70 cap from a Dealership(not the same one). The one on the vehicle was broken and was put on with a 3/4 impact! That's a bit of cynicism there!

Alot of vehicles especially BMW,Mercedes,Volkswagen and even some American cars when you install a new battery you have to tell the Powertrain Control Module or Charging System Control Module that its a new battery. It adjusts how the battery is charged. You can decrease the life of your battery by not doing this step.

Water pump is leaking as well as, this hose is near failure. Used a DVOM to test the cooling system. Negative lead in the coolant, positive lead hooked to battery negative. Reading showed 0.10vdc which indicates the coolant is acidic and will degrade gaskets. Further inspection showed an engine ground heavily corroded as well. Tis the season, get your cooling system and battery checked before cold weather sets in!
