This log cabin project in West Burke, Vermont definitely tested our patience!

Over the years, previous owners had applied multiple layers of coatings, stains, and caulking over just about every seam, crack, and surface. Removing years of buildup while preserving the integrity of the logs made this one of the more challenging restoration projects we’ve tackled.

Despite the obstacles, our blasting process successfully removed the failing coatings and excessive caulking, exposing the natural wood underneath and creating a clean surface for the next stage of restoration.

Projects like this are a great reminder that proper preparation is everything when it comes to protecting and restoring log homes.
