We are currently looking for a diesel technician in our shop. This is a fleet shop working mostly on medium/ heavy duty dump trucks, tow trucks, and equipment. We also do some outside customer repairs. The ideal candidate should be able to perform services, diagnostics, and repairs efficiently on their own. Pay will be based on experience. Snow is falling in Johnson City and surrounding areas already! That means your morning commute could be slippery. Be prepared for this weather system with a full tank of gas in your vehicles, extra clothes, and a flash light. About a 4 hour recovery job we did the other day on a moffett weighing in at around 7,500 pounds. For those that don't know what a moffett is, it's basically an all terrain forklift style machine typically used for carrying building materials to a jobsite upon delivery. This one got away in the loose gravel on this very steep driveway and turned over. The operator was ok, thankfully! The pictures don't do it justice for how steep it really was. The wrecker had to be winched part of the way up to the casualty unit. The unit was then uprighted and had to be held upright via a winch cable sn**ch blocked to a tree above the casualty while the other winch pulled it back into the driveway. It then had to be attached to the wheel lift of the wrecker to be brought down to the road and loaded on a rollback for transport back to the customers repair facility. All the guys did a fantastic job and worked late on this one!

Dump truck rollover we worked a couple weeks ago. Luckily the driver was released from the hospital and doing ok. Also it is never ideal to upright a unit with the bed still in the raised position; however, in this instance the truck was experiencing a valve body problem on the pump which may have been part of the reason the accident occured. That being said we felt our best option was to offload the dirt and upright it with the bed still partially raised so gravity would work in our favor and we could tell if what we were doing to the valve body was actually relieving pressure rather than continuing to fight it while on it's side.

Folks it is slick this morning! With multiple agencies and news outlets are reporting slick road conditions it's advised if you don't have to travel this morning, then don't! We currently have our class c heavy wrecker out assisting fire and ems units battling slippery county roads on an active house fire in the county. Special thanks to our first responders out here in this as well as the folks at 911 dispatch who are dealing with this behind the scenes!

I'm a little late posting this one but I'm glad we we able to give little Mikey and his mom a great night at "The Gap" last weekend! You can find these two race fanatics in the A side grandstands almost every time the gates are open at Volunteer Speedway. When we found that out and found out that Mikey loved the wrecker and tractor almost as much, if not more than the racing, we had to bring them down into the pits for a night and give them the experience of a lifetime! They both had a blast and little Mikey was worn out by the end of the night.
