What a wonderful way to start the day. 3 down and multiple to go! Family is safe and could have been worse. Always remember on days like these to stay safe, look up, and remember, we are only a phone call away if or when it goes bad! Having been around since 1958 and family owned since the beginning, there is not alot we havent seen.

Today would have been Chris’s birthday. The first one we celebrate without him here with us. 💚

For those who knew him through LP Tree Service, you know it was never just a business to him. It was family, hard work, early mornings, dirty boots, laughter on job sites, and taking pride in serving this community alongside his son, Jon Ranum, daughter Nikki Ranum, and the rest of the crew.

Chris Ranum believed in showing up, helping people, and doing the job the right way- even when no one was watching. His legacy lives on in every crew member, every customer relationship, and every tree we care for today.

On his birthday in heaven, we’d love to hear from you.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for the incredible love and support you showed as we celebrated the life of Chris Ranum, beloved husband, father, friend, and owner of LP Tree Service.

The line never stopped.
Hugs were given.
Stories were shared.
Tears flowed.
And above all, love was felt.

We know Chris was watching with that proud, mischievous smile, soaking in every story, every laugh, and every tear. He would have been humbled by the turnout, the tributes, and the way you all showed up for him — and for us.

Chris left his mark on this earth — in the trees he trimmed, the business he built, and the lives he touched. As a lasting tribute, we are framing the tree made of thumbprints from those who attended his services. Each print is a symbol of the love and support that has held us up when we felt like falling — a reminder that even in grief, we are never alone.

As many of you know, our beloved owner, Chris Ranum, passed away peacefully on June 1, 2025. While Chris was always humble about his success, one of our favorite memories was attending last year’s award ceremony with him. We’ll never forget the way his face lit up when LP Tree Service was named the Best of the Best. Starting with just one truck and a chainsaw, Chris built this business with hard work, pride, and integrity - values that remain the heart of everything we do.

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of our beloved owner, Chris Ranum, who passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, June 1st. Chris wasn’t just the heart of LP Tree Service—he was LP Tree Service. His passion for trees, his deep knowledge of the trade, and his genuine love for connecting with clients made him more than a business owner—he was a trusted expert, a neighbor, and a friend to so many.

We will be sharing his obituary below, but we wanted to personally thank each and every one of you for your patience and understanding during this incredibly difficult time for our family.

Chris truly appreciated every customer who welcomed him onto their property, asked him for advice, or shared a story. He loved what he did, and it meant so much to him to be able to share that love with you.

LP Tree Service will be taking a short break to grieve and take care of family matters, but we are still accepting calls and booking appointments for later next week. Chris wouldn’t have wanted things to stop—he believed in hard work, moving forward, and showing up for people. We’ll honor him by continuing the business he built with so much heart.

Thank you for your continued support, kindness, and trust throughout the years. It means more than we can say right now.
