This last weekend was the first race weekend of the season at the newly repaved Blackhawk Farms Raceway in South Beloit, IL. This would be what we consider to be our home track being so close and it just keeps getting better. We had perfect racing weather with plenty of sun and mild temps in the 60's. The race started out great with Michael running several laps at almost a full second faster than his fast lap from last year. Unfortunately the car suffered a mechanical failure in the suspension shortly after the video clip and he was not able to finish the race. We would both like to thank the track workers and safety team for a quick recovery of the car and their help getting it back in the pits. Check out the photo album from the race. I apologize there aren't many pictures, we got kinda busy trying to get the car to at least roll to get it loaded on the trailer.

A week ago Sunday August 31st was the latest race of the year. This was our first trip to the Milwaukee Mile for the Back to the Mile race sponsored by Midwest Council and Great Lakes Sports Car Club. We had beautiful sunny weather and not too hot. Spent the morning practice learning and getting used to the track. The race was one of those that could best be described as " To finish first, first you must finish". Michael drove a smooth and very consistent pace turning his fastest lap on lap 21 with 1:19.780. He won his class and finished 3rd overall in his run group. A great day of racing. Yesterday July 27 was the "Lessons Learned" race at Blackhawk farms Raceway in South Beloit. This event was hosted by the Sports Car Club of Rockford (SCCR) and Midwestern Council of Sports Car Clubs (MCSCC). This was definitely the hottest event of the year. The temperatures hovered in the 90 degree range and with the humidity the heat index was unbearable. First a big hats off to all the corner and course workers who put in a long day in these conditions. Another hats off to all the drivers who braved the temps to come out and compete, I know it's much warmer in a racing suit and helmet. Michael's run group was pretty thin, he was the only car in his class so took the class win and finished 2nd overall in his run group. Another big thank you to Mike Valentich who loaned Michael his AIM lap timer to use for the day. Michael ran some of his most consistent laps in this race and learned a lot about where he was losing time and where he could gain time. I am sure a lap timer purchase will be in the near future. This past Sunday, May 25th was the 2nd race of the season for Michael. Back at Blackhawk farms raceway for the MCSCC and NSSCC hosted Salute to Speed weekend. Again this weekend we had beautiful weather for racing. Michael qualified 2nd in his class and 5th overall in his run group. He had a great race and took 1st place in his class and 3rd place overall in his run group. He also set a new fast race lap in his race with time of 1:21.1 Didn't take many pictures this weekend so there are 2 videos from the race.

Yesterday, April 27 was the first race of the year with Midwest Council of Sports Car Clubs and Lakeshore Sports Car Club at Blackhawk Farms Raceway in South Beloit, IL. It was beautiful weather and great fun to get back to racing season. Michael qualified 2nd in his class and 3rd overall in his run group. The racing went good and he held on to a 2nd place finish in class and 3rd overall. A good way to get back at it after having to replace a blown motor in the off season.
