Replacing a fuel filter for a client's '02 TL1000R.
Called the local Suzuki dealer who smugly said, "Fuel injected bikes typically don't have filters. Plus, I'm a Suzuki dealer, so I know these bikes. It doesn't have one..." (he really did say that)
Puzzled, as i look at the original filter in my hand, i ask him to double check the microfiche...
He returned a few moments later, stating that there seems to be a metal "canister" next to the fuel pump.
I replied, "That might be what I need. What does Suzuki call it?" "They're calling it a "fuel filter", but that's not really what it is. It doesn't connect to the throttle bodies..."
A little mechanic humor here, but alas, a lesson for us all...
