Brake fluid pulls moisture straight out of the air. Jacksonville has a generous supply.

That absorption is by design, not a defect, and it happens slowly through seals and the reservoir no matter how carefully you drive. The trouble is what water does once it is in there. Boiling point drops. The pedal can go soft on a hot afternoon after a run of hard stops, right when you want it firm. Corrosion starts working on lines, calipers and ABS components you never see.

The level in the reservoir tells you nothing about any of this. Moisture content has to be measured. Our technicians test it, look at the whole hydraulic system, and tell you plainly whether the fluid still has anything left to give.
