Famous last words heard near the Musicraft repair bench:
"It should be an easy fix."
"My friend tried to fix it first."
"It only fell a little bit."
"I don't think that's supposed to be bent."
And the all-time classic...

Did you know???
Not every trip to an instrument repair shop starts with something broken.

Sometimes it's about keeping it from getting there in an emergency.

Cleaning, adjustments and routine maintenance can help catch wear and small problems before they interfere with how the instrument plays.
Think of it as taking care of the instrument you already invested in.

Today's reminder:
If a key is bent, bending it back yourself until it "looks about right" is not technically an instrument repair.
Neither is using:
🔹Pliers
🔹Super glue
🔹Duct tape
or aggressively wiggling it
‼️Step away from the toolbox.
We're here when you need us.

Musician: "It's making a weird noise."

Me: "When did it start?"

Musician: "A while ago."

Me: "How long is a while?"

Musician: "..........."
I've been doing this for 40+ years which means I'm very familiar with this conversation.

Which means that when it starts, bring it into the shop for a professional look so that we can make sure it doesn't turn into a more costly repair.

Here's an easy habit that can prevent an expensive mistake:
Before you close your instrument case, look inside. 👀 Seriously, look.
Make sure everything is sitting where it belongs and nothing is resting on top of the instrument.
A mouthpiece, pencil or other small object in the wrong place can do some impressive damage when that case gets closed.
And by impressive, I don't mean good.

There's cleaning your instrument.
And then there's cleaning your instrument.
Regular care at home is important, but it can't reach everything. Over time, instruments collect dirt, oils, moisture and buildup that need a little more attention.
That's where a professional cleaning comes in.

It isn't just about making an instrument shine again. It's about taking care of the instrument so it can keep doing its job for years to come. Although we do think that shine on the after is fantastic!

When was the last time you had your instrument professionally cleaned? If you can't remember, now is the time to come see us at the shop.

This one is worth repeating every few months.
At Musicraft, we repair Woodwind and Brass instruments.
That’s our lane.
That’s our specialty.
And after 40+ years, it’s a lane we exceed in.

What we don’t repair:
🥁 Drums
🎻 Violins or other string instruments
🎸 Guitars
🎹 Pianos
🚙Vehicles
or your child's unwillingness to Practice.

Basically, if it doesn’t need air to make music, it probably shouldn’t come through our door.
Those other instruments are great too. They’re just not where the Musicraft talent is best put to work.

Woodwind and Brass? Bring ’em in.
