We ARE racing tonight at Jacksonville Speedway for the Ron Milton Race of Champions. We got about an inch but assuming we get the sun and wind and 80 degrees they promise things should dry out fine. If anything were to change, we would know by noon - but I'm certain as of 7am that we will be fine.

It's an almost perfect weather night tonight to enjoy the last race. We spend all week thinking it wouldn't happen so consider it a bonus and show up and enjoy!

10/01/2026

Well... we don't know a lot more than we did this time last night - however I'm starting to like our chances. I'd probably lean toward loading 'em up and making plans to come race 'em.

It just depends how much more we get. We had 1/4in pound us a bit ago.. but this thing keeps weaking and pushing north. Heavy rain is spotty. If we get one of those sustained spots later we are dead. If it keeps moving us quickly through the green - we are good.

I doubt there's anything more we will know tonight until late - so I would go to sleep assuming we have a pretty decent chance of racing tomorrow night for the Ron Milton Race of Champions at Jacksonville Speedway.

We will update you Friday morning - a day where the forecast looks beatiful!

09/30/2026

I'm going to be completely honest on where we stand for Friday and actually talk about the weather in advance (although I can name a few 'advisors' who would argue against mentioning weather!)

It is not going to rain on Friday. I'm almost certain of that. But I'm also almost certain it's going to rain tomorrow. The problem is... I can see one model that dumps an inch plus on Thursday and another that leaves that inch up by Macomb and leaves us with a survivable quarter of an inch.

Which one happens? Who knows. But I'm pretty sure we know by dinner time Thursday night. We hope to race, are still planning to race and if we can it will be a great night to close out the season honoring Ron Milton.

I'm confident we can handle a quarter inch Thursday. I'm doubtful we can handle anything approaching an inch this time of year.

This will not be made-up if it cancells as there are commitments at the fairgrounds on coming weekends.

And WOW.. just tried to post a link to the driver pre-registration page and FB is telling me I used my 2 free links for the month and now need to pay $9.99. That's a new one! So pre-register at app[dot]jacksonvillespeedway]dot]com - but if you've registered before I'll shoot you a link by text insetad.

Keep your Friday plans alive. We still have a really good shot to make this happen. We'll know Thursday evening for sure!

It's RACE DAY! One of the last two nights of the season to come out and enjoy a great night of racing at Jacksonville Speedway. Within the next 60 days there will be snow on the ground. Yes, it's that close! But tonight, dirt will be flying, noise will be ripping and beverages will be flowing as we start to bring the season to a close.

6 classes of racing for pretty much the cost of 3 gallons of gas or 2 gallons of diesel. See you tonight!
