Anyone ever file a claim where the guest stole the car? Not a late return but steals the car? I need help with this one.

I have wandered into new territory. A guest rented my vehicle and was supposed to return it on 7/11/24. There has been no communication with the guest at this time. Turo had me send a demand letter by certified mail and report the car stolen with the local law enforcement.

All of these items were completed and posted in the claim info section but since then we have not been able to get any traction. Going forward all of my vehicles will have some type of GPS device.

Any insight would be very helpful.

Solution:
Turo was informed 1st. They sent several docs that needed to be signed and notarized. While waiting I reported it stolen. Officers gave me a report which I sent (2 day UPS) with copies of my signed docs to Turo.
I followed up with both entities every week and nothing. Labor day weekend came and I got a call from the Police in California. During a routine stop the guest was arrested and car was impounded. My guest had taken possession in Jax Fl. Turo settled all of the impound fees. A truck driver drives all stolen and damaged vehicles from one side of the US dropping off cars to owners. My vehicle qas returned to me the 1st week of Novemberr. A very slow process but all of the documents help make sure that its done right the 1st time. My car had taken q beating but with minimal repairs I was able to get it re-listed
