It’s been a while since we’ve updated you on the Rocket. We got delivered the car to Reeves Racing. The left header was a mess, he took the time to fit it under the steering linkage. That allows much better access to the rear plugs. Right side header was finessed and the oil filter bracket corrected. It had been tilted and was a bitch to get to. New carbon fiber dash replaces the stock Starfire piece. Front travel limiters installed and modified to withstand the abuse. We also added a couple of “out of the box” aero pieces.

BES Oldsmobile engine is fresh, Sepanek transmission is also new. Strut front end, Jeff Thomas shocks, Strange front brakes added too.

We have invested in all new Holley stuff for data acquisition and nitrous control. Complete rewire is coming up.

All we lack is finishing it now.

Got the Rocket back from my long time friend, Dennis Reeves. He fixed us up with new down bars and struts. Engine is back together with fresh BES heads. Jack and Katie at Sepanek Racing Transmission has our transmission ready also. Going to be a fun car.

Who’s the small tire racer that makes the custom canopy tops? He contacted me about a Quickdraw Dragracing Trigger awhile back too.

LS killer! Putting the 350 Olds back together. Few updates and minor changes. And just a sprinkle of nitrous.

They guys have worked hard trying to get both cars going. Waiting on rear springs, carb parts and a shifter swap on the Camaro. The heads came back from BES for the Olds. Transmission is ready. It needs scaled and a few small items and it’ll be ready. It’ll feel good to get back out and race again in a heads up, performance based category.

Thanks Pat and Dale for the hard work.

The Quickdraw Dragracing Trigger ‘69 Camaro made its debut last night. Couple of burnouts and a test drive down to check everything out. Really nice, we’ll built car and I’m anxious to let it rip. Several changes need made, then we’ll come out play with all our friends.

Thank you to;

Ricky Gllen Skelton, Mike Foster, Tracy Foster, Jerry Stiller, Jeff Prock and all my guys at Customs and Classics for lending a hand.

Jim Johnson from Minnesota has a beautiful 1965 Plymouth Belvedere and is racing 6.0 this weekend at Lights Out in Georgia. Jim buys his trigger yesterday and installs it in the car. 1st hit today, and here’s his quote below.

"Have to admit, my best r.t. to date with that car."

Update: Jim told me his best .400 tree reaction time was a .113. After installing the Quickdraw Drag Trigger, his first hit was a .094. After a couple of laps with it, ended up having an .046 react!!
Folks, times change. Fresh ideas become new products that are designed and built. Are you ready to step up to a Quickdraw Drag Trigger? I'd be glad to discuss details with you.

One thing my hard head has learned to be true, when you surround yourself with the people who are masters of their craft, their success bleeds off onto your program. Thanks for helping get the Rocket up on its feet. Thank you in no particular order to the following ;

Ron Galbraith, Chris Bell, Garrett Livingston, Tony Bischoff, Jack Sepanek, Marty Chance, Jeff Prock, Ronny Rhodes, Jason Line

Also, special thanks go out to these businesses;

Applied Nitrous Technology, Quickdraw Drag Trigger, Customs and Classics, Red Horse

And, lastly, 2 friends who’ve dedicated some of their personal time to helping out,

Dale Probst and Pat McAtee

Thank you to all of them!

Wade Owens

As someone just coming back into the Heads Up world of No Prep, I have plenty of ideas and questions.

Do any of you change your glue namebrands for different surfaces?

Or, what about different glue for different tire compounds?
