Now it's her turn for some work. Replacing axles, rear bearings, seals, steering box, and building a bike rack for my 2 freestyle bikes before next weekend. Along with washing, detailing, clay bar, and whatever else I find on top of fixing a few things on the pop up camper before next Friday. Why such a tight deadline? VW Drag Night weekend. Gonna be epic again. If y'all are looking for something to do next Saturday, come up to South Carolina Motorplex in Neeses and check out some drag racing and a car show. We will be up there from Friday afternoon until Sunday afternoon.

IYKYK. If you know what I'm up to in the shop today, you've either done this oldschool trick, or know someone that has. If you don't know, ask someone who's birth year starts with a 19XX. Lol. Glad I was taught this years ago. Done it enough that I'm as accurate as any machine used with a computer.

Finally taking some time and making this rideable again and cleaning it up. Used to want one of these when I was a kid, but was taught to appreciate what I had, and this one was a barn find. Father in law had it in his barn and gave it to my youngest son years ago. Getting it cleaned up to put on the bug for car shows since it fits the age range. Surprised at what these are selling for online, however haven't found one of this model anywhere online. And still has the original grips and seat on it. Also changing out the original tires because they are dry rotted a bit. Didn't turn out too bad for a quick clean and wax with a tire and tube swap. Still have some rust areas, but I'll address those as time goes on. For now it's rideable and will be making a rack for it for the bug for shows. And yes, those bear trap pedals hurt as much now as they did when I was a kid. Lol

Another one completed. This 58 was in for a trans swap and a dual 2 barrel to single 2 barrel swap. Found a bunch of issues that needed corrected from prior owners over the years just making things work. Everything is back to be as it should be, with correct parts installed. Just a FYI, do not use a non-doghouse fan with a doghouse fan shroud. It will lead to cooling issues that will damage your engine. Yes I found and fixed that issue on this one. An easy way to tell that I have found is the non-doghouse fan has 8 holes spaced around it and the doghouse one is solid. Also, if you have the engine out and are planning on changing the front trans mount, do the rear 2 also. Saves time and headache just changing all 3 at the same time than waiting and doing it later and having to pull the engine again.

At the momen, shop activities are paused for a bit. So, I hate making posts like this, but asking for some prayers for my Wife. She's been having some pain episodes, and she finally told me to take her to the ER. They did some scans and blood work and decided she needed to go to MUSC for some deeper testing for her heart. Something about some numbers being high, and they weren't equipped to do the further testing. They flew her to MUSC in a helicopter because they couldn't get an ambulance when they wanted her to go. She said it was a pretty nice flight. She's in good spirits, and it's not anything major as of yet. Mostly just precautions and to head things off before they get worse. Me and the girls will be heading over there sometime tomorrow to see her and hopefully be able to bring her home.
