1966 SHELBY GT-350 HERTZ
The 1966 Shelby Mustang GT350-H was a special edition of the Shelby Mustang GT350 available for rent through Hertz Sports Car Club. Most of these cars came with a high-performance automatic transmission, though a limited number were available with a 4-speed manual transmission for purists who could demonstrate their ability to operate a manual gearbox. The “H” in GT350-H stands for Hertz, and the cars were available in a standard black with two broad gold stripes color scheme, though other options were also available. The GT350-H featured the occasional rear seats and mag-type wheels as options, and it was designed to fulfill the FIA’s minimum production requirement for Group 2 sedan racing if Shelby or Hertz wanted to race the car.

This particular 1966 GT-H is a great example for today’s enthusiast. The exterior paint is in fantastic shape with deep gold flakes that garner the attention of fellow motorist.

The K-code 289 engine is mated to the original 3 speed C4 transmission. Long tube headers are mated to a true dual exhaust system. Rear end gears have been changed from 4:11’s to a 2:75 rear gear ratio for low RPM highway cruising. (4:11’s still available) A classic auto air A/C system has been fitted to the car that blows ice cold.

This 289 Shelby GT-H is a fantastic driving car and would fit great in any collectors garage.

What an incredible evening!
Hillbank staff and executives were proud to join fellow Shelby enthusiasts at the Team Shelby VIP Dinner in Monterey — surrounded by some of the most iconic Shelby and Shelby-licensed cars on the planet. From classic Cobras and GT40s to a couple of sharp Shelby Mustangs on display, the cars were pure eye candy.
The energy in the room was electric. An amazing night bringing together people who simply love these cars and the Carroll Shelby legacy.
A special highlight of the evening was the official launch of the new Shelby Daytona by Bulova — a beautiful timepiece that captures the spirit of these machines perfectly.
We also want to congratulate the Standers (owners of Hillbank), the Den Bestes, and Segerstrom, who were honored by Team Shelby executives Aaron Shelby and Tracey Smith for their instrumental contributions to the Carroll Shelby Foundation. Grateful to be part of this family.
