Our Story
At Furlong Speed & Marine, our goal is to provide the best service possible for whatever task we are up against. We are a start-up auto and marine repair and restoration shop who works on small engines as well. The company is engaged in the restoration and modification of older European cars specifically BMW, and the designing and building of drift cars, and street cars. Aftermarket part installation, restoration, and general maintenance is the majority of our work and we carry many rare European parts as well. We are currently planning to build a new state-of-the-art work space. The company is dedicated to providing the highest quality workmanship. Furlong Speed & Marine keeps up on all the latest tools and techniques of the trade to perform the highest quality work possible today. Our company and father-son relationship is dedicated to doing each job right the first time, and retaining each car or boat owner as a lifetime customer of our shop. Going by the motto “Do it once, do it right” we strive to complete work efficiently and on time.
The company is a small family owned business started by George Furlong (Recent St. Johns Prep Graduate 16’ and Current Hobart and William Smith Entrepreneurial Studies Major 20’). The owner has worked for other shops in the Upstate New York and Boston area for many years, and is committed to excellence every day. This new space will allow the company to retain more work as we are up for it all! George strives to continue their passion for being around cars and boats. They are highly motivated individuals who will not stop until the task is done. Any job assigned to Furlong Speed & Marine is a job well done.
Our mission at Furlong Speed & Marine is to always perform the highest quality work at the best price around while doing things once, and doing them right. We will strive to develop a top notch auto/marine detailing and auto/marine repair and maintenance operation that supplies to its customers the best quality product that meets the customer’s needs. Quality will be defined as the right product to meet the customer’s requirements from a car wash, to a complete detailing, to a brake job, to other repairs that include paint correction or aftermarket part installation. The purpose of this company is to provide not only quality service, but a livelihood for the owners and its employees. Along with the ability to provide the community with assistance as needed, we will also pioneer new ways for customers to have services completed quickly and efficiently without interrupting their day. We generally service or rebuild anything with a motor!
