Cars like this Nova SS, and their owners, are an incredibly important part of our state's culture.
There's something about this era of vehicles that unifies us as Michiganders. Practically everyone in Michigan has a memory of, or in, a classic like this.
Dad's car. Mom's car. Friend's car. Neighbor's car. Partner's car. My car. Built these cars. Car shows. Racetrack. Drive-in theater.
Obviously, being the automotive capital of the world had a hand in the prevalence of these vehicles. The mass production of automobiles was quite literally born here.
However, unlike many other states where classic cars are so prevalent, owners here have their work cut out for them when it comes to maintaining these machines. It takes a good deal of passion and elbow grease to keep a 40+ year old automobile, which was designed to last not-even-close-to-that many years, on the road and out of the junkyard.
That's why when vehicles & owners like this roll into our bays, we have always made it a point to celebrate them. Next week, we take it one step further. We're proud to call ourselves the official title sponsor of the 2026 Michigan Old US 27 Motor Tour, a 20-year tradition of cruising these vehicles up historical route US-27, from Coldwater all the way to Cheboygan.
Join us and HUNDREDS of other classic car owners next week, from Aug 17-22, as we make our way up the middle of Michigan. We'll be stopping in several cities and towns along the way for car shows and other fun events!
We invite you to join us for one of the biggest celebrations on the tour, the Coldwater Cruise-In at Performance Plus Coldwater, on August 18 from 5-7PM. In addition to the classic car meetup, there will be food trucks, live music by Frog & the Beeftones, and a free professional backdrop photoshoot for all Motor Tour participants/vehicles. Everyone is welcome to attend, but many parking areas near the event will be reserved for Motor Tour participants.
