🏁 THANK YOU JOHN YEOMANS! 🏁

As we wrap up another year at The Krater, there are a lot of people who deserve recognition for the time, work, and dedication they’ve put into making this place what it is. But we definitely wanted to take a moment to put the spotlight on John Yeomans and his latest project for Krater Nation!

John has put countless hours into designing, installing, testing, and fine-tuning a new mister system for the track surface. With some helping hands along the way, he has gotten this thing absolutely dialed in!

The system is on a timer, can be controlled right from a phone, and allows us to make sure the racing surface is getting the moisture it needs throughout the day, even when nobody is at the track! On those hot days, we can add more watering cycles. When it’s cooler, we can cut the watering time back so we aren’t overdoing it.

For a dirt oval, moisture is everything, and having this kind of control is going to be a HUGE help in keeping The Krater surface in the best racing condition possible.

But the finished product only shows a small part of the story. It doesn’t show all the hours John spent installing lines, adjusting things, testing, tweaking, troubleshooting, and making sure everything worked the way it should.

So John, THANK YOU for everything you’ve put into The Krater this year and for continuing to find ways to make this place better.

And we also need to give a big thank you to Amanda for sharing him with Krater Nation through all those hours spent at the track working on projects! 😂 We know those hours have to come from somewhere, and we appreciate you too!

A simple “thank you” really doesn’t feel like enough, so Krater Nation, let’s make sure John hears it! Drop a comment below and show him some appreciation for everything he’s done for this place. 👏

Now we’ll see how the system handles getting winterized, and when the doors open again we’ll be ready to hit the ground running for the 2027 racing season!

☝️ ONE MORE DAY AT THE KRATER?! ☝️

Weather permitting, we’re looking to get Krater Nation together for a Club Race Day on Saturday, October 17th!

Just a chance to get the cars back on the dirt, run our normal classes, and enjoy another race day in 2026 while we can!

🏁 THAT’S A WRAP ON THE 2026 KRATER POINTS SERIES! 🏁

What a season it was!

We wrapped up our 2026 Points Series with a heck of a day. There was some great racing, an awesome potluck, plenty of laughs, and points battles that came right down to the very end. With only the best 6 of 8 races counting toward the final standings, every position mattered and it made for some incredibly close finishes!

But as exciting as Championship Day was, there was also something, and someone, on all of our minds.

With all the excitement in the building, we definitely felt Michael Althoff’s presence with us throughout the day.

This season gave us some incredible highs, along with one heartbreaking low that Krater Nation will never forget. Losing Michael hit this racing family hard, and there’s no replacing the friend and fellow racer we lost.

But we know Michael would be proud!

Proud to see the pits full. Proud to see everyone helping one another. Proud to hear the laughter, the bench racing, and the cars making laps. And most of all, proud to see Krater Nation continuing to grow and flourish.

Thank you to EVERYONE who raced with us, helped at the track, brought food for the potluck, supported another racer, cheered someone on, or simply walked through those doors this season. You are what makes The Krater what it is.

Congratulations to all of our 2026 Points Series Champions and podium finishers! 🏆

We love you, Michael. We’ll keep making laps and carrying you with us.

READY TO RUN RACE NIGHT AT THE KRATER!

We’ve been asked many times if The Krater would ever have a night dedicated to Ready to Run racing… well, here’s your chance!

Friday, October 9th, we’re giving RTR Race Night a go, and we want to see what kind of interest is out there. This is your chance as racers to show us whether this is something you’d like to see become a regular part of the 2027 season!

The whole idea is simple: stock cars, simple rules, affordable racing, and FUN! Bring out those Traxxas Modifieds, Wingless Losi Sprints, Losi Late Models, and Losi NASCARs and see what they can do around The Krater!

We’ll be running two 2-minute heat races with mains to follow, so everyone will get plenty of racing action.

This is a trial run, so participation and feedback matter! If you’ve been asking for an RTR night—or you just want a fun, low-pressure night of racing—come support it and help us figure out what RTR racing at The Krater could look like next season.

ATTENTION KRATER RACERS!

We’re getting ready to do some painting around The Krater, and we need ALL pit spots completely emptied this weekend!

Please make sure you take home everything from your pit area: pit lights, chairs, mats, tool holders, car stands, name plates, and anything else you may have left at your spot.

Even if you normally leave it at the track, please take it with you this time. We need every pit spot completely clear so we can get in there and get the painting done without having to move or keep track of anyone’s belongings.

We appreciate everyone helping us out and making the process easier!

⚠️ PIT SPOT REMINDER

After this weekend, we ask that everyone with a personal pit spot please take home any items you’ve brought and left at your spot throughout the season. Things like name badges, lights, chairs, pit mats, and anything else.

We’ll be doing some painting at The Krater after the season and want to make sure everyone’s belongings are out of the way. We definitely don’t want to accidentally get rid of something that belongs to you when it comes time to clear things out and paint!

🏁 WINGLESS & TOPLESS AT THE KRATER for the Fast Izzyz RC race! 🏁

Yesterday we took the wings off the 360 Sprints and the tops off the Limited Late Models and it sure made for an interesting day of racing!

From what we heard, the Topless Limited Late Models weren’t drastically different behind the wheel compared to their normal setup. The Wingless 360 Sprints, though… that was a different story!

Without that big wing creating downforce, drivers had to make some changes to their cars along with adjusting their driving styles to keep those things under control. It definitely added another challenge and made for some fun racing to watch!

Overall, it seemed like everyone enjoyed switching things up a little bit. After spending week after week dialing in the same cars, sometimes it’s fun to throw a curveball at everyone and see who can make the adjustment and knock it out of the park! 🏁

🏆 Congratulations to all of our podium finishers!

And a huge THANK YOU to every single driver, family member, crew member, and spectator who came out and spent the day with us. You guys are what make these race days memorable and make The Krater such a fun place to be.
