Rusty Ranch Restorations

So I’ve been busy this week the rear body panel was too far gone so I put a new rear body panel and then I went to move to the front come to find out the passenger side. Front frame rail was down one and a half inches and the driver side front frame rail was down to half an inch so I had to Pull the frame up get that all square and I put a new core support and left and right aprons then after I got that done, I prepped the car for epoxy primer because it was all bare metal and I didn’t want it to get rusty. Oh, I also took all the lead out of the seams that causes so many problems in a paint job. You’ll see Mustang that they restore and you’ll see paint bubbling at all the seams that’s because of the lead.

1965 Mustang Fastback GT Eric owned this vehicle for over 30 years the first picture is his son when he was like eight years old and the next picture is Eric and his son taken March 2026 this looks like a beautiful solid car. His son was questioning his dad why he was even going to restore it, but it’s funny. You really don’t know a car until you start taking it apart. It’s actually pretty ugly under the paint if you look at the hood, it was hit real hard at one time the actual hood skin is separated from the Frame. of the hood. then they wasted perfectly good doors. They cut big holes in the interior part of the doors to accommodate speakers. There’s actually no repair for this other than trying to retrofit a nicer style speaker, but I think we’re definitely gonna replace the doors. next was a trunk lid look beautiful until we started stripping it down some spots had a 1/4 inch of Bondo on it. next step was getting epoxy primer on the driver side, fender and trunk lid and then started stripping the paint off of the passenger side fender. Oh boy this got real ugly. This is gonna have to be replaced. Also check out the pictures.

A Satisfied Customer
Andrew had always been searching for a 69 Mach 1, and we were able to locate the closest available model that was largely rust-free, retaining its original paint. However, the vehicle necessitated a fresh coat of paint.
At Rusty Ranch Restorations
Commencing at the Front
We upgraded the vehicle with four-piston front disc brakes and new lines. Additionally, we installed a Pertronix electronic ignition system. Furthermore, we fitted dual exhausts, a rear lower valance panel to accommodate the dual exhaust, and a new rear bumper. Mach1 door panels were also integrated. Rear window louvers were installed, and minor rust repairs were performed on the driver's side trunk drop-off. Finally, we replaced the rear rubber brake line and wheel cylinders.

I had a great experience visiting National Parts Depot, where I was able to pick up the parts I needed quickly. My friend Richard Garrett came along for the 40-minute drive and was impressed by the vast collection of over 250 cars, mostly with less than 500 miles. We both felt privileged to get a tour of the facility, and I appreciate National Parts Depot's willingness to accommodate us.
