What a night of racing at I-37 Speedway! 🏁

16 Emods checked in, and Cameron Schmidt started 6th — outside of row 3. A turn 1 scuffle opened the door for him to ride the high side and make his move. He ran 2nd behind Tripp for a lap before sliding around him to grab the win in Heat 2! 🎉🙌🏼

That set him up outside pole for the feature. Cameron ran strong in 2nd behind Preston ( #6) for a few laps, but in Turn 2 he got a little overzealous and spun on his own, sending him to the back of the field. From 16th, he dug in, battled back, and fought his way up to an 8th-place finish.

Watching your kid accomplish something he’s worked so hard for — nothing compares. We cheered, hugged, laughed, and celebrated every lap. Truly a night to remember!

We’ve been battling some tough car issues the last few races, but hard work always pays off, our crew chief (aka Dad) and Cameron have spent countless hours in the shop — replacing the rear end, brake lines, shocks, and making key adjustments to get the car dialed in.

All that dedication, plus some damn good driving we finished the night with a 4th-place finish at Outlaw 34 Night 2 at South Texas Race Ranch! 🏁🔥

Saturday’s race South Texas Race Ranch was pretty eventful.

Cameron Schmidt started out first row, outside during his heat race and held first for a time. Started to have some car issues and fell back to 4th.

Pulled off the track and we had a blown transmission. Trans has been pulled and will be replaced before Saturdays race.

Peep our newest race pup. She’s not thrilled about the heat or them kids 🫣😂.

Huge thanks to South Texas Race Ranch for the impromptu race this past Saturday!

Cameron Schmidt continues to push harder with each race. He started the heat in 3rd against a stacked field of cars, battled hard, and held mid-pack to finish 4th.

That finish placed him 8th for the feature, where he raced his heart out. It was a great battle from start to finish between all the drivers. Cameron was aggressive, confident, and drove the wheels off the car. He finished 8th, but in our eyes, the number doesn’t fully represent how well he drove or how much he’s improving.

Congratulations Cameron—we couldn’t be prouder of you, kid!

What a night at South Texas Race Ranch!

Cameron Schmidt # 18s had one heck of a run.

Heat race: The track was super greasy, and he started on the pole but slipped back to 5th. As Cameron puts it, “I’m not a heat guy.” 😂

Feature race: He started 9th out of 14 and was absolutely on fire! Midway through the race, he found his rhythm and started picking off cars one by one. He had an awesome battle with #8 Tony Rolando during the final laps and came out finishing 5th!

This was hands down the fastest and cleanest we’ve ever seen him drive. We’re beyond proud of everything Cameron has accomplished — especially considering this exact day last year was his very first time behind the wheel of an Emod.

Next race is June 14th — come on out and cheer him on! He just keeps getting better every time he hits the track. 🏁

Big Weekend at South Texas Race Ranch – Night 1 Recap 🏁

Heat 1: Cameron Schmidt was holding strong in 4th out of 9 for most of the race, showing great control and determination. But a little too much throttle in Turn 2 caused a spin, dropping him to the back for a last-place finish. Tough break, but that’s racing.

Feature: Started deep in the field—17th out of 19—but Cameron wasn’t backing down. He drove with heart, skill, and grit, making moves and staying focused. When the checkered flag dropped, he crossed the line in 8th place, gaining 9 spots on the night!

We couldn’t be more proud of this young driver. For a kid who only started racing at 13, every lap is a learning moment—and last night showed just how far hard work and dedication can take you. 💪

To some, it might not be a win, but to us, it’s a victory in progress. Keep grinding, kid. Your time is coming!
