It’s not new, it’s just super clean. Tolerances stack, especially in brake systems. We sandblast the whole caliper bracket, as well as cleaning up the mounting surfaces on the vehicle to ensure optimum braking performance.

This steel building was the final straw for the old shop. The city got involved, and ended with a demand to vacate. That’s how we ended at our current location. Growing hurts, ask any former kid. But we did it and we’re happy where we’ve gotten. Sincerest thank yous to everyone who’s supported us, whether you’re a day one, or just joined us. Our clients that have been with us a long time know the history, but it’s good to sit and reflect on where you’ve come from. This all started because a “man” told another man work was more important than his child. It started from hard work, sweat, blood, and determination. One man, one bay garage, and the will to never be told not to put his family first again. We have a wonderful shop space now, with multiple techs. But we’ll never forget where we came from. We glance to the past on occasion to remind us why we fight forward. Every job is important to us. Every client is special to us. We open our doors every morning happy to serve the community we’ve built. We’re Horton’s Garage Indy, and wildly proud to be.

We have a saying “It’s almost never just the belt”. Often we see a seized alternator, maybe a worn out bearing in an idler pulley. Here we had a belt tensioner failure. Started with a rattling noise on startup, progressed to noise at idle and ended with a jumped belt.
