Racing this Saturday and Sunday!!

For those camping at the track, We will have coffee, muffins and donuts at the concession stand starting at 8am until sold out. Regular hot concession food will start being served at 10am.

Let hope for minimal rain this week and a dry weekend!!!

📢 VERY IMPORTANT UPDATE — 2026 COOKPORT FAIR ATV DRAG RACES 📢

📅 Thursday, September 17th, 2026

Unfortunately, we have an important update regarding the classes for this year's Cookport Fair ATV Drag Races.

Due to insurance requirements, Cookport Fair is NOT permitted to allow children UNDER THE AGE OF 13 to participate in the drag races. Their insurance company said NO, so they have to abide by that.

This is absolutely not the news any of us wanted to share. We know how much our younger racers look forward to getting on the track, and we are incredibly disappointed by this sudden change. Please understand that this decision is through no fault of Helman Drag Racing or Cookport Fair. It is an insurance requirement for the fair that must be followed in order for the event to take place.

Because of this change, the following classes WILL NOT be offered at Cookport Fair this year:

❌ Mini 1
❌ Mini 2
❌ Mini 3
❌ Modified 7 — Kids
❌ Dirt Bike 16 — Kids

⚠️ Riders ages 13–17:
A parent or legal guardian must be present at registration, and PROOF of the rider's age will be required ⚠️

We are truly sorry to all of our younger racers who were looking forward to racing at Cookport this year. 😢 We love watching these kiddos race, improve, build confidence and proudly take their place at the starting line. Knowing that some of them won't be able to participate this year is incredibly disappointing for all of us.

We appreciate everyone's understanding and patience as we adjust to this unexpected last minute change.

💥Please help us spread the word so families are aware BEFORE arriving at the fair.

🚨 IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT REGARDING STOCK CLASSES 🚨

Due to the overwhelming number of ATVs being entered into Stock Classes ( and a few in the Modified as well) that are visibly NOT following the rules, we will be making an important change moving forward.

⚠️ ALL STOCK CLASS MACHINES WILL NOW BE VISUALLY INSPECTED BEFORE THE CLASS IS STAGED TO BEGIN RACING.

The number of disqualifications that occurred at the Indiana Fair races last night was beyond disappointing — especially when some involved racers regularly race with us at Helman Drag Racing who know the rules.

We do NOT enjoy disqualifying anyone. We especially hate having to pull a racer after they have already paid, registered, and waited hours for their class to run. It creates an uncomfortable and frustrating situation for everyone involved — the rider, track officials, and the other racers in the class. We were able to get 5 or 6 addressed before the race started and move those riders to their appropriate classes. There were a handful who were disqualified mid race as well.

However, the Class rules are posted and available to everyone. It is each rider's responsibility to read those rules and make sure their machine qualifies for the class they are entering.

When other racers and spectators begin pointing out very obvious modifications on a machine entered in a Stock Class, we are obligated to address it. We cannot simply ignore something that clearly violates the class rules.

🏁 Stock means STOCK.

If your machine has modifications that are not permitted under the Class rules, please enter the appropriate class. If you are unsure whether something on your machine is legal, ASK US BEFORE YOU REGISTER! We would much rather answer your question ahead of time than have to disqualify you later.

Moving forward, whether you are racing at Helman Drag Racing or at one of the fairs we assist with, Stock Class machines will be visually inspected BEFORE racing begins.

This isn't being done to make things difficult. It's being done to keep the classes FAIR, COMPETITIVE, AND CONSISTENT FOR EVERYONE. There's a reason we have rules and class breakdowns.

📢 PLEASE READ THE RULES BEFORE ENTERING A CLASS.

We want everyone to race. We want everyone to have fun. But we also owe it to every racer who follows the rules to enforce those rules equally.

So you have time to prepare, we did a little switcheroo to our lineup and in just one week on Saturday, August 29, 2026 we invite you to join us for the ATV Drag Races presented by Helman Drag Racing. The registration will begin at 11:00am and the event will begin at 3:00pm. If you would like too watch this entertainment, grandstand admission is $10; however, if you are just looking to take a stroll and see what’s happening - admission to the grounds is FREE all day.

While you are here, stop by the Fair Office and grab you $5 walk around tickets for later in the week since they are no longer available online.

It should be noted NO barns or buildings will be open and we do not know what vendors will be ready to go.
