This is a horrible experience!!! Omg

🚨🚨 THIS IS WHY GOOD SHOPS ARE HARD TO FIND 🚨🚨
One of the things we did on that 95 camaro was an air conditioning compressor replacement. This required a recharge of the system under vacuum. We sent the car to a local repair shop called "The Mechanics" in locust nc, in an effort to help local small business. The car drove fine after our work for several test drives and drove fine to the shop for the a/c work. The customer picked up the camaro when the shop called and said work was completed. Immediately they noticed a severe front end vibration upon leaving the shop. The car was pulled back into our space for a safety inspection and diagnostic. We found a 1/4 ounce wheel weight had been added to the inside of the front passenger side wheel. It was obvious to us as this weight is new and all other weights are still covered in brake dust and some road grime, and this weight was not present when we put the cradle back in the car. We checked cradle bolts and all other possible vibration points and everything checked fine. So we removed this weight, and took the car for a test drive. Car now drove fine like it did before going to the shop for the a/c work.
Verdict: This weight was added by someone at "The Mechanics", likely to create a diagnostic ticket they could charge the customer for and maybe even not needed repairs they could charge for.
Here at Catman's Custom Works we always recommend a pre-purchase inspection of any vehicle you're going to buy, and now we recommend a pre-work and post-work inspection for anyone who has taken a car to this shop in Locust.
Shops like that give us all a bad image. Stay away from them.

It's been a LONG time since we did a Sonic Drive-In Meet. But i stopped by there today and checked in to see if they're be willing to host us again for our revival. the Manager is on board with it, now we wait to hear from the general manager. We never had any issues at our meets, and if they allow us to come here again we expect the same. We will be enforcing our usual Zero Tolerance policy, no matter where we meet. But hopefully we can get back to this great location, and bring great car meets back to NC and Union County. Sonic Drive-In is always a great venue with many other local businesses in the immediate area.
