Seeing this post reminds me that this Saturday I have a customer call me because his wife had her Honda brakes done but I had done the front brakes for them 2 years ago I couldn't get to them Thursday when they needed so this was Saturday I get out there Saturday and literally it felt like metal to metal and you could hear the car from mile away screeching and screaming I thought that they had just taken his money and not replaced the pads I was wrong it was such a poor quality of pad that it was insane that's why I only put on premium pads I replaced the pads and the hardware and it's smooth as butter now you get what you pay for people

Sometimes you just got to let people go

Just a word to the wise to the other mobile mechanics out there the customer I fired left an availability for me to check on two customers today and because of that I picked up four cars. So sometimes trying to please somebody just a thorn in your side cost you money I picked up more customers and more money than the guy that I had to fire could ever have given me. And they're closer so that saves me a lot of gas money and a lot of heartache

Well I had to fire a customer today that every time I talk to him it's a battle about pricing and how long it took I've tried to explain the industry standard just if it calls for 3 hours and I get it done an hour and a half that's how I make money but he doesn't like that. But this time he went too far he wanted me to create an invoice for a job that he was providing parts for so he could turn it into his insurance company and I told him I didn't want any part of it so now he says that he's going to burn me up on Facebook and his Network and everywhere and let people know that I left him in a lerch 🤡and that I charge for 3 hours and only take an hour to do it I'm so glad I fired this guy

Think my favorite thing is when people ask how much is a tune-up without telling you where they live ,year make or model engine size and then they say I just need a general price. Well it could be anywhere from $125 to $800 wouldn't it be more beneficial to tell me what you're making model it is and how many spark plugs you need and what you consider a tune-up?

All this to get to the variable valve timing motor just to realize that the timing chain has too much play in it and you got to pull the whole freaking thing a part anyways. Well at least it's not 110° outside anymore
