North Star Gardens has a Cafe, Gift Shop, and Flowers (is it time to add color to your campsite?) They also have super-cute “Natural Life” fashion that Back-to-School Girls love. You’ll find lots to love in their store: everything you need to cozy up your home, gifts, and the best Michigan-made products. The cafe serves breakfast burritos, muffins, scones, and cookies, and if you don’t have time to relax on their patio, then head to the Drive-Through. Open every day 9 am to 5 pm (Sunday till 4 pm). Mulligan’s has a comfy dining room in the heart of downtown Cheboygan, suitable for families or a night out with friends. Open Monday through Saturday, 11 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.

Our Guests can enjoy Drop-In, Open-Air Workshops at Three Pines Studio! Join the lovely people at Three Pines anytime between 1–4 pm on Tuesdays and Wednesdays in July and August (no registration required) and experience the joy of creating art in the fresh air. Open-air workshops are designed to spark creativity, invite exploration, and make space for both beginners and seasoned makers to experiment freely. Kids under 9 must be accompanied by an adult or older sibling. On Tuesdays, the focus will be Shibori and Indigo Dyeing. On Wednesdays, explore the art of woodblock printing. The cost is $30 per day for the studio fee, plus the cost of the materials you use ($5-$50). Guests of Indian River RV Resort have easy access to one of the top cycling trails in the Midwest, The North Central State Trail. The most popular rides near us are the trail section running from Indian River north to Topinabee or south to Wolverine. The trail going north is more shaded on those sunny days. South towards Wolverine affords views of the Sturgeon River and glimpses of wildlife, including eagles. You can hike, walk, run, cycle, or amble with your dog for miles!
How to Access the Trail: Exit the resort at the back, then turn right onto Ranch Road. Ranch Road crosses N Straits Highway, and just beyond, near Giauque Beach Road, is the North Central State Trail, running alongside Mullett Lake. Or, if you don’t want to travel on Straits Hwy/M-27 on foot or bike, drive to the Indian River Chamber Trailhead (about 4 miles away), located at 3435 S. Straits Highway. The North Central State Trail runs directly behind the Chamber of Commerce building, with parking, restrooms, and picnic areas. The trail north from Indian River Chamber Trailhead to Topinabee is 5.6 miles; an additional 6.6 miles lead to Mullett Village and Beach. NEW! An Outdoor Fitness Circuit for Fun + Fitness! Use the circuit to move from Cardio Stations to Strength Training, Stretching, and Multi-use, which packs 3-4 exercises into a single footprint. It provides a full-body workout for all fitness levels. The fitness circuit is made with commercial-grade steel, dipped in molten zinc to protect it for decades against rust and corrosion that would weaken the components, and finished with a UV-resistant powder coating so the equipment is free from chipping, peeling, and fading, and colors stay vibrant.
