Ignoring it usually does not put points on your license, but it can still turn into a bigger headache. In Ohio, camera tickets are generally civil matters, not BMV points violations, so drivers sometimes assume they do not matter at all.
What often happens instead is that the unpaid civil penalty can move into the local collection process. Some Ohio courts and cities send follow-up notices, add late fees, or turn the balance over for collection if the ticket is ignored. That is why it is better to deal with it than assume it will just disappear.
