You can have your boat dialed in and still have a lake day fall flat…because your gear couldn’t keep up.
Before the season kicks off, here are a few things worth checking to solidify your lake days...
🌊 surf boards.
Give them a full check for dings, cracks, or soft spots, because those small issues turn into waterlogged boards FAST. Tighten fins, check traction pads, and store them out of direct sun to avoid fading or warping
🌊 ropes & handles.
Fraying, knots that won’t come out, or stretched sections mean it’s time to replace. A worn rope doesn’t just affect performance, it’s a safety thing! Rinse them after use and let them dry fully before tossing them in a compartment.
🌊 life jackets.
Check for worn straps, broken buckles, or compressed foam and be sure you have life jackets that fit all of your family members or guests to avoid an unnecessary hold up on lake day
🌊 bumpers & dock lines.
These take more abuse than you might think. Look for cracks, weak spots, or stiff lines and after a once over, clean them up and store them dry so they’re ready for those busy marina days!
🌊 trailer.
Your lake day starts before you even hit the water so make sure to check your tires, bearings, lights, and winches now so you’re not stuck wrestling a boat onto the trailer when the sun’s already up and lake time is ticking away
A great lake day isn’t just about the boat, it depends on everything that comes with it.
What’s one piece of gear your best lake day can’t go without?
