Remember when we said we're working to make 2027 even better??

The process has already started by prepping the current surface. We will be adding 60+ full truckloads of dirt around the entire track surface over the next few weeks.

We're excited for you all to see these changes!

Hiring!

As you may have seen, the voice of Dakota State Fair Speedway, Andy Brooker, snagged himself a Super Stock to race in 2027.

That leaves us looking for someone to take over the microphone each week.

We are also entertaining the idea of beginning to stream weekly racing online for the first time in track history.

With that in the works, we may be looking for 2 new voices. Our idea would be a play-by-play announcer to go alongside a color commentator.

These will be PAID positions.

***Don't worry, Andy will have at least one more night on the microphone. He has agreed to be the "Emcee" for the upcoming 2026 DSFS awards banquet.*** (More news on the banquet, soon.)

New Class!
*Don't worry, this isn't the only class update for 2027* 😎

We are extremely excited to announce that we’re adding Dakota Stock Cars as a weekly class in 2027!

But… what exactly are Dakota Stock Cars?!

The rules package will be VERY similar to those used at tracks like Fiesta City Speedway in Montevideo and Madison Speedway in Madison, Minnesota.

The goal is simple: create an affordable, beginner-friendly class that is still competitive and fun to race.

Why did we choose this class?

To help build the next generation of racers.

We want to give new and younger drivers a place to get their feet wet without the massive investment that can come with jumping into an established division. Building our entry-level classes helps build every class above them as drivers gain experience and move up.

We hope the Dakota Stock Car class becomes a starting point for future champions across all divisions!

We’ve heard estimates of around $50,000 to build and field a competitive WISSOTA Street Stock. That’s a huge hurdle for someone looking to get into racing for the first time.

Based on our research, we believe a highly competitive Dakota Stock Car can be built for around $5,000, with a goal of keeping builds under $10,000.

Our focus can be summed up with the ABC's of Dakota Stock Car racing:

Affordable. Beginner-friendly. Competitive.

Did you know that EVERY SINGLE race track that has hosted a WISSOTA 100 is still in operation to this day?

Including Marshfield Speedway, the home of the first-ever WISSOTA 100!

WISSOTA 100 and Western 100 are all categorized as WISSOTA 100 in WISSOTA record books.

The winners of the 2009 Speedway Motors WISSOTA 100.

2009 marked the first time since 1992 that only one WISSOTA 100 event was held. From 1993 to 2008, WISSOTA contested the Western 100's, including one year where 3 WISSOTA 100's were held by region (Eastern, Western, Central).

Only one WISSOTA 100 has been held yearly since 2009.
