Some defects require more than a bottle of compound and a polisher. They require judgment.
This Toyota came to us with sanding marks, deeper scratches, and previous correction work that needed further refinement.
The goal wasn’t perfection at any cost. It was to identify what could be safely improved, choose the right approach for each defect, and make meaningful corrections without creating new problems in the process.
Working alongside Brent Collins, we addressed multiple areas through controlled wet sanding, compounding, polishing, and refinement. Some areas required us to go back, reassess, and refine further until we were satisfied with the result.
You may notice several previously filled paint chips still visible in the before and after photos. Those repairs were completed by the owner prior to our involvement, and at his request, we intentionally left them undisturbed. Our objective was specifically to remove and refine sanding marks and scratches surrounding those areas, not alter his existing touch-up work.
This is also something I believe strongly about this industry: skilled detailers don’t have to operate on islands. When two professionals can bring their experience together, evaluate a problem, challenge each other’s thinking, and work toward the same result, the vehicle benefits.
When the problem goes beyond a normal detail, that’s where we want to be.
