Have you received a text message claiming to be from the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV), TxTag, or another government agency demanding immediate payment for an unpaid traffic violation, toll charge, or vehicle registration issue?

⚠️ BEWARE — IT MAY BE A SCAM.

Scammers are sending text messages that threaten driver's license suspension, vehicle registration cancellation, collections, legal action, and credit reporting if payment is not made immediately through a link provided in the message.

🚩 Red Flags to Watch For:
• Urgent threats and scare tactics
• Demands for immediate payment
• Suspicious website links
• Messages claiming this is your "final notice"
• Requests for personal or financial information

✅ What You Should Do:
• Do NOT click on any links in suspicious text messages.
• Do NOT provide personal, banking, or credit card information.
• Verify any claims directly through official Texas government websites or by contacting the agency using a trusted phone number.
• Delete and report suspicious messages.

The Trinity County Sheriff's Office encourages everyone to remain vigilant and help protect family members, friends, and neighbors from becoming victims of fraud.

If you believe you have been targeted by a scam, report it to your local law enforcement agency.

We would like to introduce our newest Chaplain, Senior Pastor Quinton Thompson from Cook Springs Baptist Church. Pastor Thompson was raised in Alaska and attended seminary in California before moving to Texas to minister in the Dallas area, and then to Huntsville at Cook Springs. We are proud to have him as Chaplain at the Huntsville Police Department and look forward to his assistance in our community efforts.

⚠️ WEATHER ALERT – STRONG THUNDERSTORMS ⚠️

As of 6:59 PM, the National Weather Service reports that strong thunderstorms will impact southeastern Trinity County, northeastern Montgomery County, San Jacinto County, northern Liberty County, northern Polk County, and southeastern Walker County through 7:45 PM CST.

🌩️ Hazards Include:
• Wind gusts up to 40 MPH
• Half-inch hail possible
• Radar indicated storm activity

⚠️ Potential Impacts:
• Gusty winds may knock down tree limbs
• Unsecured objects may be blown around
• Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible

Please use caution if traveling and secure loose outdoor items. Stay weather aware and monitor local updates as storms move through the area.

If conditions worsen or you observe storm damage, please report emergencies to 911.
