Today, we had the honor of attending Dustinโs service at Hazel Green Funeral Home. โค๏ธ๐
We were grateful to stand alongside and show support with the many other towing companies that came together to honor his life. What many people may not know is that one of the owners of Rocket City Parts is currently working as a tow truck driver, which made today especially meaningful to us.
Just a little over a month ago, our owner met Dustin at a thrift store in Huntsville and asked him for advice about which towing companies to consider working for. At the time, we had no idea that such a brief meeting would make today hit so close to home.
Dustin, nor any of the companies he worked for, were customers of Rocket City Parts. But honestly, thatโs not what matters. This isnโt about business, customers, or competition. Itโs about people. Itโs about showing up for one another, supporting each other, and remembering that we are all part of the same community.
The towing industry should be one big family. We should be helping one another, encouraging one another, and standing together through the good times and the heartbreaking ones. There is enough hardship in this world without turning everything into a competition or getting upset over what someone else is doing. Life is simply too short for that.
Even something as simple as one tow truck driver waving at another on the road means something. That wave is a small reminder that we see each other, we respect each other, and we are out here doing a difficult job together. We may work for different companies, but at the end of the day, we are all people with families waiting for us to come home.
Dustinโs passing is a heartbreaking reminder of just how quickly life can change. Our hearts go out to his family, friends, and everyone in the towing community who is grieving his loss.
From all of us at Rocket City Parts, we are praying that God brings comfort, strength, and peace to everyone Dustin leaves behind during this incredibly difficult and unexpected time. ๐
Letโs remember to support one another, look out for one another, and never take a momentโor a fellow driverโfor granted.
We are competitors in business, but we should always be family in this industry. โค๏ธ๐๏ธ
Rest easy, Dustin. You will be remembered.
