One of the most satisfying parts of this work is helping other local businesses.

Today I had the pleasure of hanging a new sign for my barber here in town, and it was a great reminder of how good it feels to support fellow small businesses.

There’s something really rewarding about using your skills to help another local business look its best. I am proud to be part of a community that supports each other!

When you were a kid, you'd put a playing card or a plastic bottle in your bicycle tire to make it sound motorized. A worn wheel bearing can make your car sound that same way. Or, in some cases, it can sound like you're flying in an airplane.

This car exhibited those symptoms, but it was tough to determine the source on the initial test drive. We suspended the car in the air and checked the vibration signatures at each wheel to determine which bearings were worn. If you listen closely, you can hear the grinding/growling/roaring from the two rear bearings.

We replaced the bearings and the difference was uncanny! A very satisfied customer. He could finally hear himself think again while driving!

Mobile auto repair is one of our main offerings here at Munson General. This review came from Yelp from a customer whose battery kept dying and he had no idea why. He also needed front and rear brakes and called us to take care of both. Thanks again for the opportunity to serve you, Elijah!

Tech tip:
A parasitic draw is an electrical issue stemming from a component in your vehicle constantly pulling power from the battery, EVEN WHEN your car is off. This can completely discharge the battery, sometimes as quickly as overnight! Causes can be stuck switches, wiring shorts, electronics left plugged into ports that have constant power, and others. In this case, the center dome light in the headliner had a faulty switch that was stuck on, but the light was not illuminated. It was pulling more than 10X the amount of energy considered acceptable (.05 amps) when a car is off or "asleep."

Getting ready for summer fun? Make sure your road trip vehicle is good to go so you don't end up getting a tan in the repair shop parking lot! This customer had a grinding noise in the front that started two days before a trip. Upon close inspection, the inside brake pad was found stuck in place, constantly wearing down until there was only the backer plate left. We replaced the pads and rotors, also ensuring the calipers were functioning properly. We topped off the fluids and did a once-over to ensure there wouldn't be any other surprises.
