Have you seen it? ADAS requirements are changing across the country. It is now more important that ever to be !
Below is an article about California's Motor Vehicle Glass Act, effective January 1, 2027.

Key Points:
Right to Choose: Policyholders with first-party glass claims can choose both their glass shop and their ADAS recalibration facility, including independents, dealerships, and qualified specialists.

ADAS Calibration: Glass repair or replacement now legally includes ADAS calibration or recalibration when glass replacement is required.

Insurer Steering: Claim payments can't depend on using a specific shop, and insurers can't mislead, threaten, or coerce customers toward or away from a facility. Recommending shops and keeping a network is still allowed.

Shop Disclosures: Before work, glass-focused shops must tell customers whether the vehicle has ADAS, whether the OEM requires calibration, and whether the shop will perform it to OEM specifications. If not, they must refer the customer to a certified dealership or qualified specialist.

Calibration Results: Shops must confirm in writing whether calibration succeeded. If it failed, customers must be warned not to rely on ADAS until it's successfully completed.

Estimates & Incentives: Shops must provide estimates, an itemized invoice, and a receipt. Rebates, gift cards, or cash for directing or filing glass claims are banned.

Penalties: Up to $500 for a first offense and up to $2,000 for each one after.

Glass-focused shops face new ADAS calibration disclosure, estimate, and invoice requirements under the law.
