After a father of three was killed earlier this week by an allegedly impaired driver on Long Island, labor groups and officials are pleading with drivers to slow down and drive cautiously in work zones.

Highway Superintendent Andre Sorrentino would like to inform residents that beginning this afternoon, the National Weather Service is forecasting heavy rains and thunderstorms to impact our area. Localized flooding is expected.

As a precaution, we are asking residents to check the storm drains by your home or office for clogs and debris. If you are not capable of clearing the drains, please contact the Town of Huntington Highway Department at (631) 499-0444 for assistance.
