Statement from Legislator Sanin-
As we clean up after this nor’easter and begin getting our communities back to normal, I want to thank everyone who worked around the clock to keep Long Islanders safe and informed.
Thank you to our police officers, firefighters, EMTs, paramedics, dispatchers, and all of our first responders who answered calls and helped people in difficult and sometimes dangerous conditions.
Thank you to the utility crews working to restore power and address outages; our highway crews, DPWs, sanitation workers, general services teams, and other municipal employees clearing roads, removing debris, and helping our communities recover; and the transportation workers keeping people and essential services moving.
Thank you to our doctors, nurses, hospital staff, home health aides, caregivers, and all healthcare workers who continued caring for patients throughout the storm.
Thank you to the meteorologists, reporters, photographers, and news teams who kept us informed, shared important updates, and helped people understand what was coming.
And thank you to the volunteers, nonprofit organizations, local businesses, neighbors, and everyone working behind the scenes to check on others, provide assistance, and help our communities weather the storm.
Your dedication, often under difficult conditions and away from your families, made a difference. Keeping Long Island safe and helping our communities recover takes all of us.
Thank you to everyone who showed up for Long Island. We see you, we appreciate you, and we are grateful.
