So today we received a vehicle that would not accelerate. Vehicle is towed in, after being serviced by Jiffy L**e. Customer stated that he went in for a oil change. Jiffy L**e told him his trans fluid was low. They topped it off? They poured in 4.5 qts of engine oil and told the customer that the engine oil level wasnt showing on the dipstick. So they added more?
Here is how it really went.....my opinion. They drained the transmission pan instead of the engine oil pan & change the oil filter. Poured 4.5 qts of engine oil in & checked the oil level, but pulled the wrong dipstick. Not enough oil, poured more in and then some. Rechecked engine oil dipstick, ooppps, overfilled, oh well it will be ok. Checked trans fluid level with engine off. Saw it was low, so poured trans fluid in & checked level with engine off.
Jiffy L**e, please train your employees the difference between an engine oil pan drain plug is & a transmission oil pan drain plug is. Also an engine oil dipstick versus a transmission oil dipstick is. BTW we sucked out about 9 qts of overfilled engine oil. Remember to check the transmission fluid level with the engine on and in park. Transmission fluid was about 5 qts low, hence the reason it didnt move in drive. This particular vehicle is a Toyota.
