Before the repair, there's the tow. This is the truck from our latest job arriving at CB Diesel on a flatbed — completely down, unable to drive in on its own.

This is what happens when maintenance gets skipped. A missed oil level check on the front axle led to total failure on the passenger side, and the truck had no choice but to be towed in for a full teardown and rebuild.

Prevention beats a tow truck bill every time. Stay on top of your fluid levels.

‼️Falla total del eje delantero por falta de mantenimiento!!!

El eje del lado del pasajero se quedó completamente sin aceite/grasa sin que el dueño se diera cuenta, y el daño se propagó a todos los componentes de ese lado: masa, sello, baleros, king pin, tambor y frenos.
Todo tuvo que ser reemplazado.

Lo que pudo haber sido una simple revisión de niveles se convirtió en una reparación mayor con el camión fuera de servicio y una factura mucho más alta de lo necesario.

La lección de siempre: revisa los niveles de aceite en tus ejes con regularidad. Es la diferencia entre un mantenimiento de rutina y quedarte varado necesitando una grúa.

🔧 Caterpillar C15 Twin Turbo - Reparación completa

Este C15 con sistema de doble turbo llegó a nuestro taller porque estaba botando aceite. Después de una inspección detallada, encontramos que uno de los dos turbos era el responsable de la fuga.

Los sistemas de doble turbo le dan mucha potencia a estos motores, pero también significan que hay más componentes que pueden fallar. Cuando uno de los turbos empieza a fallar, puede tirar aceite y afectar el rendimiento general del motor si no se atiende a tiempo.

Se reemplazó el turbo defectuoso y aquí lo tienen: motor encendido, sin fugas, funcionando como debe ser.

¿Tu Caterpillar está botando aceite o perdiendo potencia? No lo dejes pasar, puede ser el turbo.

Yesterday was Labor Day. For most people, that means a day off — cookouts, rest, time with family. For Johny, it meant making sure every truck in our shop kept rolling.

While everyone else was off the clock, he was here. No fanfare, no complaints — just doing what he’s done since day one: showing up for the trucks and the people who depend on them.

Labor Day weekend, and we're still under the truck — this one's in for a full brake shoe replacement right now.

New brake shoes going in, drum off, hub inspected — nothing rushed, nothing guessed. If your air brakes are pulling, slow to release, or making noise you've been ignoring, this is the weekend to bring it in.

We're open and working through the holiday. Get it handled before Tuesday's freight picks back up.

🔧 Peterbilt rolled in running hot — Cummins ISX under the hood.

Driver said temps kept climbing, worse under load. Popped the hood and knew right away — fan clutch wasn't engaging, so the fan just spun free while the engine cooked. No airflow, no cooling, no matter what he did.

Swapped the fan clutch, temps dropped back to normal, truck rolled out the same day.

This one's not something to shrug off — run hot too long and you're not talking fan clutch anymore, you're talking a blown head gasket, maybe a cracked head. Days in the shop instead of hours.

Labor Day weekend is 10 days out. For most people, that's the end of summer - for owner-operators, September means freight picks back up and the pressure doesn't let up.

If your truck has been running warm, building air slow, or pulling under load, this weekend is the window to fix it. Not next week.

I opened this engine expecting wear and tear. What I found was somebody else's mistake.

This one came in with a knock nobody could place. The driver said it just started out of nowhere, got worse every day.

We pulled the valve cover to look and found the rocker arms blown out. Not from wear. From a repair job at another shop before us. Whoever touched this Series 60 didn't check the torque, didn't check the valve lash, nothing was done right.

Now the owner is paying twice for one job. First to the guy who didn't know what he was doing, now to fix it the right way.

Si vas a pagar por tu motor, que sea con alguien que sepa lo que hace.

Most owner-operators never look at their suspension until something breaks — and that's expensive.

Worn shocks and leaking air bags don't set off a dash light. What you see instead is cupped tire wear, a rougher ride, and the truck sitting lower on one side in the morning. That bouncing also beats up your steering, your bushings, and your freight.

Check your air bags for cracks and listen for slow leaks. If a set of tires is wearing uneven, it's usually the suspension — not the alignment.
