Exhaust progress on Andrew Gardner. I’m having a ton of fun with this one!! It’s been a challenge to nail all the requirements of this exhaust, but it’s almost there. Andrew wanted full length exhaust all the way out the back for his Jeep, with an X-pipe, and I’m pretty sure he said he wanted it to look cool…maybe that was just an unspoken requirement 🤣 Throw in a 4-link suspension with a ton of uptravel, and it made things tricky. Using oval tubing bends from Vibrant Performance was the only way I could come up with to make it all happen without hacking up body crossmembers, and it worked out perfectly! Snug as a bug.

Next, are the rear exit pipes that need to snake around the 3” ADS Racing Shocks and GenRight Off Road fuel tank, while missing the OffRoadOnly rear sway bar cycling. Piece of cake 👌

Andrew Gardner rear suspension goodies! Like up front, we used Hepta_MFG coilover towers. They’re built for 16” shocks, and we’re well aware that “everyone” is running 14” or 16” shocks out back on these Jeeps, but we’ve stuck with 12s front and rear. Keep in mind, this jeep’s intention is not just to crawl rocks. 12s allow us to stay with 6” up/6” down travel on both axles, and now our spring rates won’t have to suffer in order to make up for an unbalanced shock. It also means the bypass shocks will be right in the middle of their travel, right where they’re designed to be 😉 It’s going to make for a well handling vehicle that will excel both in the desert, and the rocks.

Andrew Gardner front suspension photo dump. Lots of chopping and screwing as always to get everything to fit together like I think it should, but that’s just how it goes round these parts! Andrew (vehicle owner) wants this thing to be a rockstar in the desert, so we’ve squeezed as much uptravel out of it as possible, short of moving engine parts out of the way. We’ll be sitting at 6” up/6” which will make for ideal spring rates and ease of shock tuning.

Hepta_MFG shock towers are holding the 3” ADS Racing Shocks MBR coilover bypass shocks in place, and the RPM Steering 3-link should do a great job of keeping that Advanced Driveline Dana 60 under control.

Trust the process. It’s been a long one, but I can’t thank Brian and Shelia enough for the patience and support during this project. I hope the final product is worth it. 🙏🏼 Last on the list is a set of rock sliders before they head out to Moab next weekend!
