We kick off the mid-way point of August with this beast of a Tacoma sitting on 6-inch BDS lift. Owner came to us because nobody would touch it. He'd been turned away by an alignment shop that said they couldn't do it, and the front tires were chewed up from running out of spec for who knows how long. Got it on the rack and the real problem showed up quick: the front struts had been installed wrong, the spacer between the bottom of the strut and the lower control arm wasn't right. So we started over up front...pulled the old stuff and put in Fox 2.5 Factory Series front coilovers, added SPC camber and caster cam bolts so we actually had range to work with, then got it on the alignment rack and dialed it in for real. Balanced the tires and sent it. Lifted trucks aren't hard, they just take somebody willing to do it right 🔧

Here we are again featuring a complete class act: FJ60 that's desmogged, five-speed swapped, and 292K miles deep. Owner brought it in with a list 🔈. Needs the valves adjusted, so while we're under the cover we're doing DENSO plugs, a fresh wire set, and a new valve cover gasket. It's leaking oil in a few places and he wants those found and quoted properly instead of guessed at. The blower's gotten weak and the HVAC case ices up until the cold air turns hot, so that's getting inspected as well. And the good one...He's gotta blip the throttle to get it to catch, and under heavy throttle it'll just die on him. That's another proper diagnostic job in the works. Old 60 with a few problems but a real plan. Stay tuned for what we find on this beauty.

This Tundra came in with the AC playing games... blows cold for a while, then goes warm on you halfway through the drive. Fan's still going strong, air's just not cold. Evacuated and recharged it, held a full charge, no leaks anywhere. Found a stored code for a servo motor, ran the initialization on it, still hot. That told us the problem's inside the system — the expansion valve and or***ce tube are clogged up. That kind of restriction usually means the compressor's shedding metal into the system, and if you only replace one piece, the debris eats the new part too. So we're doing it right: DENSO reman compressor, new UAC condenser with the drier built in, new evaporator core, DENSO expansion valve, and we're checking every line for debris while we're in there. Fresh serpentine belt and cabin filter on top. Houston summer doesn't always end on time, but this Tundra's getting cold again 🥶

Good morning and happy monday ☕️ The owner of this gem has been knocking out the big stuff to keep this 100 Series solid. It came in this spring with a check engine light, and while we had it we resealed the valve covers with a fresh set of plugs, serviced the battery terminals, and ran a coolant service. The steering had gotten sloppy the way these do at this mileage, so he came back and we swapped in a complete steering gear — the classic 100 Series fix that brings the whole front end back to tight. Quarter million miles is right around the corner and this Lexus is ready for it.
