Racers, get ready—race day is almost here! Rd # 6 of the eight-race 2026 “517” Points Championship Series takes place THIS Saturday, October 10th. Remember, you may drop your results from two events.

Losi Sprint Cars: Pinions up to 23T are permitted, as are replacement ball cups and ball studs. Racers may use Walkover Whitz Racing tires and wheels, along with 4000mAh or 5000mAh Spektrum smart batteries. Whitz Walk-Over tires and wheels and JConcepts wheels are available in the hobby shop. All other components, including the radio, must remain box-stock. A new, unopened Losi Sprint Car is also available for purchase; contact me if interested.

In the hobby store you will find tires from Whitz, JConcepts, Sweeps, AKA, DE Racing, and Promotion, along with brands like Custom Works, Whitz Racing, Triple P Racing, RacerX, Promotion RC, KMT Designs, Losi products, etc. Essential items—including tire cleaning products, gluing jigs, Loctite, bullet connectors, pinions, spur gears, sprint car wings, shock oils, late model bodies, parts storage, tool bags, batteries, and motors are available.

We have a selection of used cars on the shelf along with several new kits including Losi Sprint Cars, Losi Late Models, Dale Earnhardt Jr. Sundrop Late Model, Team Associated retro Sprint Car, etc.
We now have in stock, Losi Sprint Car front and rear tires pre-mounted, Losi Late Model Tires, pre-mounted, Losi Spur Gears, 5000 Spektrum Batteries, Losi Spur Gears, Spektrum Lipo Chargers, Traxxas Modified tires and other items.

The hobby store is fully stocked and open Fridays and Saturdays on race weekends. We have expanded our Traxxas, Losi, and Team Associated parts selection.

The Kickstand Café will be OPEN and ready to serve all day!

Canopies are allowed, and power is available, bring your own tables, chairs, extension cords, pit lamps, and fans. You may use the slab for pitting, but only handicap vehicles can drive or park on the slab.

Thank you to everyone who joined us at 517 RC Motorplex for Rd # 6 of the Lone Star Dirt Oval Series and traveled south to race with us. The program ran smoothly, the September weather in southeast Texas was ideal, and the track needed no maintenance throughout the day. We hope you’ll join N-Control for Rd # 7 of the LSDOS on October 17 and return to 517 RC Motorplex for the Lone Star Dirt Oval Series finale November 14th, with a practice session the Friday evening before the race. Again, thanks to everyone that support 517 RC Motorplex.

Practice is underway way at RD #6 of the lone Star dirt oval series here at 517 RC Motorplex! Track is had bite in the early fall sun and we are having a great time! Hope to see our local racers and those from a far to join us Saturday September 26th!!

Racers, 517 RC Motorplex is ready for Rd #6 of the 2026 Lone Star Dirt Oval Series, this Saturday, September 26, with racing beginning at 2 p.m. The track will be open for practice Friday night, September 25, from 6–10 p.m.

Pit trailer parking is available, but participants must bring generators for their trailers. There is ample overnight space for RVs and camping trailers; however, no hookups are available, so guests must be self-sufficient and bring generators as needed. Racers using tables and canopies may set up on the concrete pad and grassy areas around the track. 10-12 have contacted me about trailer and canopy spaces. A covered pit area is also available for racers without trailers or canopies.

I have marked off trailer parking and handicap parking. I will be onsite to guide you on your specific location to park based on trailer size. If you have not let me know your coming with a trailer, contact us via Messenger at 517 Motorplex so I can ensure a spot for you.

Friday night practice takes place from 6–10pm at a fee of $20 per driver. Practice sessions will be controlled and grouped according to vehicle type (Traxxas and carbon cars) if the track becomes congested, but we have had good cooperation the last two LSDOs events. Gates will open at 10:00 am Friday, and 8am Saturday.

Practice Friday night will end at 10pm sharp, track maintenance will begin in preparation for Saturday. The track will start a little dusty in practice and groove in rather quickly as more cars hit the track. It will be in the 90's, we will do our best to keep the track damp Saturday, once 6pm hits the track moisture comes up and tire wear drops. A wide variety of tires are in stock, inside the hobby shop in multiple compounds. The track surface typically offers low to medium bite in Rd #1 and increases throughout the day. As the sun sets, and moisture levels rise. All standard tire selections function well, and worn tires are effective.

The onsite hobby shop carries leading brands and essential racing supplies, including Custom Works, Team Exalt, EZ Clean Tire Washers, JConcepts, KMT Designs, Kimbrough, Mc Allister, MRP Products, Promotion RC, RacerX, Raw Speed, Rocket Racing Products, LiPo Bags, Sweep Racing, Team Power Products, Triple P RC, Truespeed Racing, Whitz Racing, Zee Products, and Traxxas. We also stock harder-to-find items such as servo tape, electrical tape, RC tools, Whitz, Team Exalt, as well as tire-gluing jigs, shock oils, bearings, batteries, motors, soldering jigs, connectors, pinions, spur gears, and more.

Available kits include Losi Sprint Cars, Losi Late Models, the Losi Nascar Dale Jr Sundrop Late Model, and the Team Associated Vintage Sprint Car. We also offer a selection of consignment cars, including Team GFRP and others.

The Kickstand Cafe will operate on Friday evening and throughout Saturday, offering a menu that includes great foods, water, soft drinks, smoothies, ice cream, and the popular Kickstand Café cookies.

The timing system remains unchanged from 2025; all 2 & RC4 3-wire transponders are compatible with the 517 Motorplex system. Please note, black MRT transponders are not supported.
All major credit cards are accepted for entries and hobby shop purchases.

We hope you will join us for this event, it's unfortunate we are not at Thompson R/C Raceway but I plan to do my best to put on a good program for all those traveling in to race with us. For those new to the area seeking accommodation, dining options, or general information, please refer below for details about the local area, our track, and available facilities.

Pit trailer parking is available, but participants must bring generators for their trailers. There is ample overnight space for RVs and camping trailers; however, no hookups are available, so guests must be self-sufficient and bring generators as needed. I will mark designated spaces for pit trailers. Racers using tables and canopies may set up on the concrete pad and grassy areas around the track. Six to ten people have already contacted me about trailer and canopy spaces. A covered pit area is also available for racers without trailers or canopies, with approximately 30–40 covered spots. I will reserve about half of this covered area and offer the remainder on a first-come, first-served basis. If you need a spot, message us on Facebook, and I will reply.

Racers we are getting ready for Round #6 of the 2026 Lone Star Dirt Oval Series at 517 RC Motorplex on Saturday, September 26th, with racing at 2pm. The track will open for practice on Friday, September 25th, providing an evening session from 6-10pm.
