Fun Fact! The very first car windshield wipers were invented in 1903 by a woman named Mary Anderson. Back then, drivers would often have to pull over and clear snow or rain by hand, which was obviously quite inconvenient and dangerous. Her design used a spring-loaded blade with a rubber tip that could be operated by a lever inside the car. While the design has been significantly improved upon over the years, the basic principle Mary Anderson established is still the foundation for windshield wipers today!
