Responsibilities

• Complete dis-assembly of vehicle in order to assist Service Advisors in assessing damage to prepare a 100% Repair Plan

• Ensure all needed repairs identified to eliminate supplements and minimize repair time

•Plan work procedure: follow work order for all operations listed

•Remove upholstery, accessories, electrical and hydraulic window and seat operating equipment and trim to gain access to damaged area of vehicle if needed

•Store parts on carts or cover to eliminate potential damage

•Mend damaged body by hammering out or filling in dents and welding broken parts; ensure all gaps and fits are to industry standards; remove damaged fenders, panels and grills; and bolts or welds replacement parts in position and reassemble after parts are painted

•Operate a variety of hand and power tools (e.g. welder, soldering equipment, cutting torch, blocks, hammers, wrenches, sander, spray guns, etc.)

•File, grind, and sand repaired surfaces with 120-grit paper before turning vehicle over to the Paint Dept

•Repair or replace defective parts

•Inspect and test drive repaired vehicles to check for compliance with safety and quality standards; Wash and prepare vehicles for customer return

•Comply with all Henry Motor Group safety rules, guidelines and standards

•Perform other related duties as assigned relating to, but not limited to washing cars, cleaning the shop, etc

•Occasional physical activity such as reaching below and above shoulder level, kneeling, bending, squatting and stooping to inspect repairs, and lifting and carrying objects over 50lbs

Responsibilities

The Automotive Painter Assistant will assist the Head Automotive Painter with any assigned duties.

• Assist the Head Automotive Painter to refinish all assigned vehicles to pre-accident condition according to the written work-order, effectively diagnose and refinish vehicles thoroughly, safely, and profitably in a manner according industry guidelines/standards

• Responsible for following proper repair procedures and performs all refinish procedures according to factory specifications and Henry Motor Group policy to restore damaged vehicles to their original structural appearance

•Utilize air sanders, spray guns, sanding blocks, etc. in order to complete quality work

•Manage & control materials cost maximizing usage and inventory

• Prepare color tint to match paint color; Mix paint colors, and ensure all formulations, preparations, top coating and curing meet OEM recommended standards for proper application sequence, timing and materials usage

•Follow all paint manufacturing guidelines

•Spray test panels for each vehicle to ensure color match

•Assist in prep work when necessary

•Ensure that all paint operations are complete, all masking is removed, and all prior paint-related disassembly has been reassembled prior to returning the vehicle to the body technician

•Complete QC sheet for every vehicle as applicable

•Adhere to all regulatory compliance guidelines for hazardous waste disposal

•Maintain clean, orderly and organized work area

•Comply with Henry Motor Group safety rules, guidelines and standards

•Perform other duties as required to successfully meet the needs of the business

Qualifications:

1. Typically has a minimum of 1 year of refinishing experience

2. Must be at least 18 years of age

3. Ability to effectively communicate with others, oral and written

4. Advanced communication to work with technician

5. Ability to read and understand basic instructions, written estimates, and work orders

7. Personable, friendly demeanor with World Class customer service approach to internal and external customers

8. Must have the manual dexterity to operate equipment
