We are saddened to learn of the passing of Dr. David Persse, a pioneer in emergency medicine whose decades of service made a lasting impact on Houston and the EMS community.

Dr. Persse’s leadership helped make possible the nation’s first Mobile Stroke Unit right here in Houston. As Medical Director of Houston EMS, he was an early collaborator in the program, helping bring together EMS, healthcare leaders, and community partners to take stroke diagnosis and treatment directly to patients.

Frazer was honored to work alongside Dr. Persse and the Houston Mobile Stroke Unit team to help bring that groundbreaking vision to life.

We are grateful for his leadership, innovation, and lifelong commitment to serving others. His legacy will continue through the people, programs, and advancements in emergency care he helped shape.

Our thoughts are with his family, friends, and colleagues.
