𝗬𝗲𝘀 — 𝗯𝘂𝘁 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗮𝘀 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗮𝗻𝘁, 𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲’𝘀 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗺𝗲𝗮𝗻𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘆𝗼𝘂.

𝗔 𝟮𝟱% 𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗰𝗼𝘀𝘁 ≠ 𝗮 𝟮𝟱% 𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗲𝘀.

For example, a $100,000 parts purchase may include approximately $25,000 in tariffs — a 25% increase in cost. That does not mean a $100 part becomes $125, or includes a $25 tariff surcharge.

These increases are tied to recent U.S. trade policy changes. On April 2, 2026, a Presidential Proclamation expanded Section 232 tariffs on steel, aluminum, and related components, with new duties taking effect April 6, 2026.

These changes now affect a large portion of the parts used across the crane industry.

𝗛𝗲𝗿𝗲’𝘀 𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝗜𝗖&𝗘𝗘 𝗶𝘀 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴:

• 𝗣𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗹𝘆 — not one-to-one with cost increases
• 𝗦𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆
• 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝗻𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗳𝘂𝗹𝗹𝘆
• 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗰𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗹𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗵𝗼𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗹𝘆
