We are sad to report that Deputy Shaun Waters, 42, died Sunday after contracting COVID-19. Our collective thoughts and prayers go out to his loved ones.

Deputy Waters had served with the Sheriff’s Office since 2010, and most recently was assigned to District 4 patrol in west Harris County. He also set the foundation for many deputies' careers as a patrol field training officer.

Waters had a great personality and he was a great Field Training Officer. I enjoyed interacting with him and our conversations. He will be missed. Heartbreaking!

In Austin for the Annual State Peace Officer Memorial Services. Fallen law enforcement from the State of Texas being honored.

Our fallen brother’s name, Harris County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Sandeep Dhaliwal was added.

Tomorrow would’ve been his 44th birthday. Gone too soon.
