Thanks Mike for letting me work on your 2014 F-150!
I love it when the aftermarket comes up with a better solution than the manufacturer.
These F-150 Ecoboost trucks have a weakness with their exhaust manifolds. So BD diesel makes a manifold with a thicker casting, and improved studs to address this problem. It’s a solution that you WON’T get from the dealer.
Independent mechanics aren’t beholden to what’s available at the parts counter, or limited to repairs that require more than a parts book. At the dealer if your stud breaks, they may not have the option or the skills to get out the welder and weld a nut on the stud to extract it. In my garage, that’s just another after work side gig.
