2011 Audi A4 with 129K miles in for a coolant leak concern. After the concern was addressed first, we performed our complimentary multipoint inspection. During which we identified a lot of maintenance items that needed to be addressed as well.

As you can see from the photos of the front lower forward inner control arms bushings, they have seen better days and have completely let go. Compared to the new OEM Audi bushing you can see the inner sleeve has detached from the rubber bushing. We also replaced both of the lower rearward hydro bushings, this vehicle was a night and day difference driving after the repairs were completed.

2015 Audi Q5 with 126k miles in the shop for a wheel bearing replacement. Cyrus using heat and gravity to get the inner wheel bearing race to let go from the hub. The days of cutting the race at an angle and hitting it with a chisel or using a bearing puller that slips off the race is a thing of the past. It took more time for him to pull the torches out and get the flame going then then the bearing race letting go! 🤣

2017 Audi A4 with 92k on it getting a new OEM Audi battery installed. We utilize the factory ODIS scan tool here at Audiwerks and always perform battery adaptions that are necessary for certain vehicles.

You might wonder what a battery adaption is? A battery adaptation is a process that involves relearning the new battery's capacity, serial number, and battery technology. The newer Audi and Volkswagen vehicles are very intelligent and will have the alternator overcompensate on charging if the battery life is depleting. This adaption lets the vehicle know that it has received a new battery, and the alternator can now adjust accordingly.

2017 Audi A4 Allroad with 112k miles is back for motor mount replacements. You might remember this car from last week. During our complimentary multi point inspection Cyrus had also identified one of the motor mounts leaking.

Audi's hydraulic engine mounts are similar to shock absorbers and have two liquid-filled chambers. A wall with two holes separates the chambers, one small and one large. The mounts are filled with hydraulic fluid, usually a glycol/water mixture. The fluid increases the dampening effect of vibrations and noise generated by the engine while running.

At idle the high engine vacuum makes the mount more compliant and absorbs noise. Under acceleration the large hole is closed and the small hole restricts liquid flow between the chambers, making the mount stiffer.
