This 2014 Mercedes-Benz E350 4MATIC is headed to the dealership for inspection under the rear subframe extended warranty.

Just a normal day in New England.

This Mercedes had a gremlin hiding, just performed an oil change, air filter replacement, customer had deferred the PCV replacement, and upper timing cover reseal with all four camshaft solenoids for some time and wanted to get those done.

A concern they had was the car feels off while driving. After an inspection we found the rear subframe is suffering from corrosion. Both rear control arms are no longer attached and why this vehicle feels sloppy going down the road. (Yes they are basically resting on the gas tank!)

Thankfully there is a warranty extension on this issue: 20 years, unlimited mileage.

Vehicle will be going to Mercedes-Benz for warranty repair.

We replaced the failed engine breather assembly and fully resealed both front upper timing covers to correct the oil leaks.

Everything has been cleaned, sealed, and brought back to proper operating condition.

2014 Mercedes-Benz E350 4MATIC in for a full look-over, oil change, and engine air filter replacement.

During our inspection, we found the engine breather system has failed, allowing oil to pool inside the airbox assembly. We also identified long-term leaks from both front upper timing covers a common issue on the M276 platform.

We also found the engine air filter dated 9/10/18 nearly 8 years old.

We’ll be getting everything cleaned up and sealed properly to bring this one back to top condition.

Tackled a few items on the to do list for the B5 S4 Nogaro Avant. Rear brakes were in dire need of replacement. Found the rear drivers caliper seized so that needs to be ordered. Got the rear struts and lowering springs in today!
