Shop Update – Eric’s Automotive & Small Engine Repair

With the shop getting ready to open, I’ve been spending some time behind the scenes putting together standardized pricing for some of the most common services I offer.

The goal is simple: make pricing clear, consistent, and easy to understand before the work even starts. I’m building out service packages for things like oil changes, brake jobs, routine maintenance, diagnostics, and other common repairs.

A few of the packages I’ve been working on include:

• Conventional & full synthetic oil change packages with a full vehicle inspection
• Front and rear brake pad & rotor packages
• Preventative maintenance services
• More common repair packages to come

Of course, every vehicle is a little different, so some pricing will vary depending on the vehicle, parts required, and condition of the vehicle.

This is all part of getting Eric’s Automotive & Small Engine Repair ready to serve California and the surrounding Mid-Missouri area with straightforward pricing and quality work.

Well we got her home

Well, the old ’84 F-150 service truck decided it was ready for an unscheduled vacation 🙃. Unfortunately, the engine suffered an internal failure and locked up, so it’ll be parked for a while until I have time to get it back on the road.

But the work doesn’t stop! 🔧

I’m happy to introduce the newest addition to Eric’s Automotive & Small Engine Repair — a 1987 Ford F-250 with a 460 and C6 automatic! She’s an old girl and needs a little TLC before going into full service, but overall she’s a solid truck and should make a great new home for the compressor/generator, tools, jacks, and everything else needed for mobile repairs.

The F-150 isn’t going anywhere and will eventually make its comeback. For now, we’ll get the F-250 cleaned up, serviced, and ready to earn its keep!

Sometimes things don’t go according to plan, but we adapt and keep moving forward. 🔧

Man, some of the best days doing this are the ones where I get to meet a new customer and, before the job is even over, it feels like I’ve made a new friend.

I’m not in this just to make a quick buck—although making a living doing what I love is definitely a nice perk 😂. I genuinely enjoy meeting new people, talking with customers, hearing their stories, and making memories along the way. Days like today are a good reminder of why I decided to do this in the first place, and this is definitely one I won’t forget anytime soon.

And let’s be real… it ain’t every day you get the opportunity to turn some wrenches on a cream puff like this old Chevrolet fire truck! 🔧🔥

Another busy week at Eric’s Automotive & Small Engine Repair!
