We’ve broken ground on a 45,000 sq. ft. addition to our Michigan operations, purpose-built for new thixomolding presses and increased production capacity.
It’s an investment in Michigan manufacturing, our team, and our ability to scale with our customers as demand for lightweight magnesium solutions grows.

Leggera Technologies, LLC has acquired PAWS Workholding and Montague Tooling & Manufacturing.
The acquisition brings three Michigan manufacturers under one organization:
• Leggera: magnesium thixomolding, finishing and assembly
• Montague: production CNC machining of magnesium, copper, aluminum, titanium and forgings, in Clio since 1943
• PAWS: custom hydraulic workholding fixtures and turnkey CNC cells
For customers, that means one partner from tooling and fixturing through molding, machining, finishing and assembly, with our engineers involved earlier in each program.
It is also an investment in Michigan manufacturing. The work stays in our plants in Holly, Lake Orion and Clio, and so do the skilled machinists, toolmakers and engineers who do it.
We support customers in automotive, defense, aerospace, robotics and automation. Read the full announcement:

The Leggera Technologies, LLC team continues to stay at the cutting edge of magnesium manufacturing. This week, Ryan Knights and Tom Darnell had the opportunity to spend time in China with Luca Greco, meeting with industry leaders and seeing firsthand how rapidly innovation is advancing.
China is accelerating the adoption of magnesium lightweighting across several industries. A few trends that stood out:
Advanced Manufacturing: China continues to invest heavily in Thixomolding - semi-solid magnesium processing, high-pressure die casting, automation, and AI-enabled manufacturing to support large-scale production.
EV Growth: Chinese automakers are increasing the use of magnesium to reduce weight, extend driving range, and consolidate multiple components into larger structural parts.
Humanoid Robotics: Lightweight magnesium structures are emerging as a key enabler for next-generation humanoid robots, improving battery life, agility, and overall efficiency.
eVTOL & Aerospace: Advanced air mobility platforms are driving demand for ultra-lightweight structural materials, with magnesium becoming an increasingly attractive option.

Leggera Technologies, LLC doesn't post very often, but that doesn't mean we're standing still.
In the spirit of the Reindustrialize event and the broader effort to strengthen manufacturing in Michigan (Michigan Economic Development Corporation), We wanted to share that Leggera is making significant investments in our future—investments in Michigan, advanced manufacturing technology, our people, and our capacity for growth.
Today is an important day for our company. A lot of hard work by a lot of people is turning into real action.
