Hello, camping friends! Unfortunately, the beach is closed to swimmers at the moment (still open for boats/bikes). But we've got the misters and the sprinklers out to cool off!

UPDATE: The beach is open and the advisory is lifted.

NOTICE: Due to elevated levels of e. coli, Stewart Lake Beach at Groveland Oaks County Park and Campground, a beach advisory is in effect as July 13, 2026.

If you choose to swim, we suggest you grab a shower afterward. We will post an update as soon as water testing results return to normal levels.

This is your sign that you need a job outside this summer. Trade fluorescent lights for fireflies with a part-time role at Addison Oaks County Park and Campground!

We're now hiring for rangers and contact station staff to work July through October. An ideal candidate would be looking for flexible shifts, with availability to work evenings and weekends. The pay is competitive, the co-workers are second to none, and the office is a campground!

UPDATE: The beach is open!

NOTICE: The swimming beach at Groveland Oaks County Park will be closed until further notice due to elevated levels of bacteria.

The Oakland County Health Division and Oakland County Parks will continue to monitor the situation, so the beach can be reopened when test results return to normal.

Let's get this party started! 🎉

This morning, we kicked off our 60th anniversary celebration with a visit to the Oakland County Board of Commissioners auditorium where leaders were presented with a proclamation to mark the milestone occasion.

For 60 years, Oakland County Parks has been preserving natural spaces, creating unforgettable experiences and keeping our communities healthy, active and connected. Growing from just a couple hundred acres to more than 7,000 acres across 17 parks, it's been an incredible journey.

Nearly 2 million guests visit our parks each year, and we're just getting started. We've got new partnerships, expanded access to amenities and exciting anniversary events -- Oakie's having a birthday party in July, and you're invited!

We can't wait to see you out in the parks and at our events in the coming months to celebrate six decades of parks, people and possibility.

Oakland County Parks is now taking applications for seasonal positions at both of our campgrounds and all five golf courses! Take this as your sign to trade in fluorescent lights for sunshine.

We need candidates for From pro-shop workers, grounds workers and cart attendants to grill room workers, campground operations specialists and beyond. These part-time roles offer flexible scheduling, competitive pay and the very best coworkers around.

Here's a note for visitors coming to our northern parks this summer: According to Michigan Department of Transportation, roadwork will resume this month on I-75 starting from M-15 (Ortonville Road) and going to the Oakland/Genesee County line. Traffic will be reduced to two lanes in both directions.

Plan your trip accordingly!
