“HOISINGTON AUTO RACING!
I am doing research for the Western Kansas Motorsports Museum. We recently aquired this photo labeled as the 1952 UMCA auto race held in Hoisington. The UMCA was the United Motor Contest Association based in Dodge City and managed by Jack Merrick, a long time Western Kansas racing promoter.
Does anyone remember the races held here and where the track was located? Any information would be appreciated. We would like to have Hoisington motorsports history mentioned in our future museum.”

It all comes down to THIS! The Thunder in the Wetlands Kart Nationals wraps up tonight, Saturday, August 30th at Cardinal Speedway in Hoisington, KS with Championship Night racing action!

👉 Hot Laps kick off at 6:30 PM
👉 Racing (Heats & Features) starts at 7:00 PM

Classes hitting the track include:
Rookies, JR 1, JR 2, Adult Clone, Adult Predator, Adult Open, JR 3 Outlaw, and more – both Flat & Cage divisions!

🎆 And stick around after the final checkered flag – we’ll light up the Hoisington sky with a FIREWORKS SHOW directly after the feature races! 🎆

After quite the rainfall in the last 48 hours we are all ready for take off of the Thunder In the Wetlands Kart Nationals! Load those karts up and cars up and be here as a racer or even a fan! You do not want to miss this weekend of racing there will be great food available as well!

Also please remember racers with the moisture that we have had please wait to show up after 1:00 pm to allow some extra drying time. Thank you TeeJay
