Spida-Man 55 Chevy
Congratulations to my brother from another mother for the completion of his 7/8 scale street/strip steel body 55 Chevy. What started with a normal 3 Musketeer meeting in Waiakea Uka turned into Spida proposing the challenge of taking a stock 55 Chevy Bel Air with vin tag and title and turning it into scaled down street/strip beast. To which I accepted. Being a long time Charles Carpenter fan contacting him seemed like the most logical first step. I was amazed at how friendly he was and that he took time out of his day to give me all the measurements he remembered and told me to contact Hairy Glass for the rest. Now that we had the info it was time to move forward. Spida-Man decided to order the Carpenter/HairyGlass front end to make it easy on me. All I had left to do was cut it up! I’m truly proud of how this steel bodied, 25.1 moly chassis, carbon fiber, Reher Morrison powered, Liberty trans, beast turned out. Big shout out to Alan Yamasaki of AY Customs for making me look good with his amazing bodywork and painting skills. Also Ryan Matsuo of Art Works for his flawless air brushing skills. Lastly, Spida-Man for being just OFF enough to believe I could pull it off.
I would like to thank my amazing wife for getting in on the build.
Thanks to my boys and helping with the tear down and getting the car ready to cut.
